BROCHURE

Creating brochures is one of the basics of graphic design. It is a default marketing collateral used especially during campaigns. It can be a one page tri-fold spread or an A5 saddle stitched booklet.
Brochures are very important because it provides an overview of the company, list of products and services and the usual contacts and social media channels. If a potential customer is interested in your products, the customer will not pay attention to how beautiful the cover page is but rather jump straight to the list of products and technical specifications. That is why this product section must be in detail and can explain how the product works.
But what is the challenge of creating the brochure? If you ask me, the real challenge of creating the brochure is to ensure that the content is aligned with the company’s business model. Because there are companies that provide both solutions and products just like in IT and RAN infrastructure.
For example, a company is providing both private network solutions and small cell radios. Which means that you need to have a section that discusses how this solution and products work in parallel. Added to this are the case studies with network diagrams to support the efficiency of these solutions.
For me, a brochure is not just a static print but rather an evolving visual that reflects the company as a whole and its efficiency to present its solutions and products to their customers. With the right content and layout, a brochure can bring in customers.
Added to this, it is important that the content of the brochures are created by the subject-matter-experts or SMEs. In IT or RAN infrastructure, they are often called the Solutions Architect or Product Managers who knows the parts of the products down to the last screw. I don’t think that someone from marketing, especially a non-techie, is fit enough to do the content unless this person is a former SME or an engineer.
